Corridor of Commerce History Hunt: a County-wide Family Scavenger Hunt!

Back for its 3rd year with new clues! This month-long, free, family-friendly scavenger hunt introduces participants to local history by providing clues that lead to historical sites, buildings, or markers throughout the county. You have one month to follow the clues and take a picture at the many historical sites, buildings, or markers. Along the way, you'll learn about Putnam County’s history as a Corridor of Commerce! Every location you visit enters you into the random drawing to win a grand prize. The more places you visit, the more likely you are to win! Be sure to share your journey by posting your photos on social media and please tag us #phmhistoryhunt @putnamhistorymseum. S?ome of these locations may be spots you pass by every day without realizing! From the Industrial Revolution to modern day, the Hudson Valley has served as home for industry and innovation within the United States. This History Hunt will bring you on a journey to many of these sites within Putnam County, to explore the ways that our history has a lasting impact on the world around us. How to play: Register online (Free!) and receive your History Hunt clue packet via email (or pick one up at the museum beginning August 1st). Visit as many locations as you can find, based on the clues in your packet! Take a picture in front of each site that you visit! Submit your photos by 5:00 pm on August 31st, 2023. Photos may be brought to the museum or emailed to director@putnamhistorymuseum.org. Participants will be entered into a random drawing to win the grand prize, which will be awarded on September 1st, 2023. Children 18 and under will receive a participation prize!
