Intro to Songwriting with Thomas Earl

Have you always wanted to write your own original songs? Have you ever wondered how artists like Lady Gaga and Ed Sheeran come up with their melodies? Thomas Earl has created a brand new class called “Introduction to Songwriting.” In developing the new course, Thomas has created a new and unique “Basic Songwriting Chord Chart” that can help you construct new melodies in any key. You pick the key you want to write in, and the chart offers you suggested chord options. Even if you don’t read music, the easy to use chart can guide you to creating new original melodies. In addition, as part of the course, Thomas will demonstrate how the Chart can be used to “deconstruct” three of the most successful Award Winning songs from the past year: “Shallow” by Lady Gaga, “The Joke” by Brandi Carlile, and “Perfect” by Ed Sheeran. This class is for all level musicians! Don’t play guitar or piano? Call us, we may still be able to help you experience this wonderful class. The class will be held on Saturday, April 27th, at 1:30 p.m., in the upstairs performance space at New York School of Music, “The Den”, 42-B Orchard St. Walden, NY 12586. The fee to attend is $20 per student. Advanced registrations are highly recommended! Call 845-778-7594 to reserve your spot!
