Yonkers native, Carlos Jimenez, is an extraordinary flute player and vocalist as well as composer and band leader of Jazz, Latin jazz and Salsa. His family moved to Villalba, Puerto Rico when he was 6 years old and it was there that his musical training began. Inspired by Mongo Santamaria, he pursued becoming a jazz flutist. He studied classical flute at the Music Conservatory of Westchester under Dave Fenucane and expanded into jazz, studying with master musicians Mario Rivera; Dave Valentin; Bobby Porcelli; Mitch Frohman; Vinnie Rickitelli; Rolando Briseno and Enrique Fernandez. He also studied harmony/voice with master pianist, Mike Longo, Alfredo Valdes Jr. and Hilton Ruiz. Cárlos has recorded and performed with Hilton Ruiz, Hector Martignon, Edy Martinez, Barry Harris, Earl May, LeRoy Williams, Oscar Hernandez, Stephane Rongetz, Sonny Bravo, and Dave Valentin. Adm $15
